Services
Initially specialising in the shipment of break-bulk and conventional cargo, we have diversified into all aspects of freight movement and are now recognised as one of the UK's foremost expeditors of over sized cargo.
Weird & Wonderful
As well as our ‘bread and butter’ shipments, now and again we get some weird and wonderful cargo to ship. Jamar will attend to this with the usual professionalism and care as we do with all shipments. Here are a few of our more unusual items with photos below:
Rolls-Royce
Our valued customer in the UAE asked us to airfreight (!) this stunning brand new Rolls-Royce Onyx Wraith from UK to Dubai. Received, surveyed, delivered into airline and built onto airline pallet, direct flight to Dubai. One happy customer!
S-61 Helicopter
Working for other freight forwarders who might not have the knowledge and expertise is another area we excel in, we guarantee neutrality. Here we shipped a Sikorsky S61 Sea King Helicopter from Southwest UK to Canada for repair and refurbishment. We personally supervised the collection from the secure airfield site with abnormal load carriers, moved to port, loaded and lashed to a MAFI at origin point, had it surveyed and shipped as static cargo to destination. No fuss, no hassle and goods arrived in good time, safely and economically.
Un-crewed Survey Vessel
Here at Jamar, we are always pleased to be at the forefront of technology and of course shipping the latest, whatever it is and wherever it is going. Here we were asked to look at shipping an un-crewed survey vessel from Cornwall to Nigeria. Not only was this a tricky destination, but it also needed to be there quickly with airfreight the only option for the main craft. Additionally, it needed export packing with a requirement for reusable packing so that packing could be kept and re-used to return the craft to the UK. We arranged collection with HIAB, export packing, survey and shipment to Nigeria by air. Batteries also had to be removed and packed and shipped separately due to IATA dangerous goods regulations. All completed with minimum of fuss, job completed in Nigeria and returned by sea freight. Again, batteries removed and shipped back to the UK 5 months later, on completion of contract.
